About Leigh Anne Spraetz

Leigh Anne Spraetz, M.A.
Licensed Professional Counselor,
National Certified Counselor

Leigh Anne Spraetz is President of Academic Futures, Inc., and has been providing intensive college/career counseling and coaching for students and their families for over nine years. She began her educational consulting practice in 1998. She currently spends about 25% of her time traveling, touring and evaluating college campuses.  She meets with admissions deans, staff and counselors and interacts with college students to learn about a college or university.  Her specialized knowledge about majors, campus environment, and programs helps her determine a best ‘fit’ for her clients.

Ms. Spraetz continuously researches and attends continuing education seminars to review trends and therapeutic strategies that work in relating to children and adolescents. Her sense for coaching and motivating youth, allowing them time to view their inner world and strengths in order to set goals and take ownership of their life direction is her passion. She is dedicated to remaining innovative in order to reach children and adolescents in a manner that lends respect and awe for who they can become. She works with many types of students, including those who are gifted, those who struggle socially or with learning disabilities, and those with Asperger’s Syndrome.

She gives back to her community by frequently giving speeches regarding developing a high school profile for college admissions, choosing college majors and career paths, setting healthy boundaries for adolescents, developing leadership in youth, and teaching students to choose to be social leaders. She is chair for the “Parent to Parent” program at Wesleyan School.
